Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, his nephew and NCP MP from Nashik Sameer Bhujbal, MP Supriya Sule, Union Minister of State for Surface Transport and National Highways Tushar Chaudhari and others were present on the occasion. 

The flyover, which was raised at a cost of Rs 980 crore, connects Pathardi-Phata and Adgaon Naka. 

Its construction began on January 4, 2010.About 172 pillars were required to complete the huge flyover and total 3,500 labourers were engaged to construct it.

Chhagan Bhujbal said that since the city would be hosting the Kumbh Mela in 2016, the state government need up to speed up infrastructure work.

  • 1634 : The City was recaptured by Shahaji Raje for his new state of Nijamshah Headqaurtered in Pemgiri(Near Sangamner)
  • 1636 : Shahaji Raje made Pact with Mogul Nashik again moved to Mogul rule
  • 1663 : Netaji Palkar recovered "Chauthai" from Nashik for Shivaji Maharaj of Pune
  • 1673 : Jadhavrao and Siddi Halal left job of Mogul and joined army of Shivaji Maharaj on Tribak Fort thus Nashik became part of Maratha rule
  • 1685 : Aurangjeb Captured Nashik City during Sambhaji Maharaj's rule.
  • 1695 : City was raided by Santaji followed by Temporary Maratha Rule
  • 1719 : Officially Shahu got right to collect "Chauthai" of City from Moguls of Delhi
  • 1725 : The city frequently camped by Marathas who heading to Malwa, Gujrat for campaigns.
  • 1734 : The 'Gulshanabad' city was given name 'NASHIK'.
  • 1862 : Nashik Road railway station was built.
  • 1864 : Nashik Municipality formed
  • 1869 : Nashik district formed.

Nashik is located in the north-west of Maharashtra, 171 km (106 mi) from Mumbai and 210 km (130 mi) from Pune.It is the biggest city of North Maharashtra and 11th most populated district in India with a population of 6,109,052. and Urban population of nashik according to census 2011 is twenty nine lakhs forty four thousand seven hundred and ninety one (29,44,791). Nashik district is the third largest district in Maharashtra after Ahmednagar and Pune.
